The detail

What's involved in a bath & tidy.

A bath and tidy is the lighter, quicker option between full grooms. Perfect for short-coated breeds, dogs who've been on a muddy walk, or anyone whose coat doesn't yet need a full clip but could really do with a clean and a tidy round the face, feet and rear.

We bathe with a breed-appropriate shampoo, towel and blow-dry properly (no damp dogs going home), brush the coat out, trim nails, give the face and feet a quick tidy, and check the ears. The whole appointment is usually 45 to 75 minutes.

If you book a bath and tidy and we spot something during the appointment — a small mat behind the ear, nails that turned out to need more work, an ear that needs a proper clean — we'll mention it before doing anything extra. No surprises on the bill.

Small dogs from £30, medium from £40, large or doodles from £50. Often the right choice for a Cocker Spaniel between full grooms, or a Labrador after the lake.

Frequently asked

About bath & tidy

How is a bath and tidy different from a full groom?

No body clip or scissor finish. We bathe, dry, brush out, tidy face/feet/rear, do nails and ears — but we don't take length off the body. About £10 cheaper per size tier and ~30 minutes quicker.

Will the coat be smelling fresh?

Yes. We pick a shampoo for the coat type — gentle on skin, properly cleansing for muddy dogs, brightening for white coats. Towel and blow-dry leaves the coat fluffy, not damp.

Is this a good option for puppies after their intro groom?

Often yes — for short-coated puppies who've outgrown the puppy first groom but don't yet need a full body clip, a bath and tidy is a sensible step.
